Nintendo Switch Officially Unveiled

Nintendo officially unveiled their next console today, and its called the Nintendo Switch  (I’ll miss calling it the Nintendo NX).

Like the rumors had suggested, it is a console/portable hybrid, allowing you to play the same game on the same system on the go or on your TV.  For home use, the console rests in a dock, allowing you to connect to your TV.  Removing the console from the dock switches into handheld mode, allowing you to take the same game anywhere.

The system uses cartridges, which I love as a fan of both physical games and of cartridges, and it powered by a custom Nvidia Tegra processor.

The Nintendo Switch will be released worldwide in March, 2017.  Here is the video Nintendo released showing off the system. This video shows gameplay footage of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a Mario Kart game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Splatoon, along with a new Mario 3D game.

What are your thoughts on the Nintendo Switch?  Let me know in the comments below.
